One moment we are five years old running around playing and the next we are all grown up and headed to work. Time tends to go by quickly – sometimes so quickly, we forget to slow down, stop, and smell the roses. Here are a few secrets to making sure you make the most of your days and live a full and happy life:

  1. Be present and mindful. It’s easy to get caught up in a to-do list, agendas, and future obligations, but try to make a point of living each day in the present, not worrying about what’s to come, but rather thoroughly enjoying what’s happening in the here and now.

  2. Get outside and get some fresh air! You don’t have to travel far. You could simply enjoy your back yard or take a stroll around the block. Fresh air helps you de-stress and so does taking a small break like this from time-to-time.

  3. Don’t put off trying something new. Start marking stuff off your bucket list – there’s no time like the present! You don’t want to have any regrets or never get to something you always dreamed of doing. Taking up a new hobby can bring joy into your life, as well as friends, and even a passion you never knew you had. You won’t know until you try!

  4. Spend time with loved ones. A big part of living life to the fullest is sharing special times with others. Creating memories together now means never feeling regretful later. Take advantage of the time you have together.

  5. Find ways to reduce stress. Whether you take that yoga class you’ve been thinking about, get a massage, or simply take a break, a bath or a series of deep breaths, making sure you take time for yourself to decompress is important for your overall health and well-being.

  6. Get end-of-life plans in place. When you pre-plan your funeral arrangements, it’s not only one less thing for you to worry about, but it lessens the burden for your family and loved ones when the time comes for you to say goodbye. Getting your things in order now allows you to share your wishes for the future and leave your worries in the past.

Living life to the fullest can mean going on an adventure, or simply getting cozy and reading a book. Whatever it means to you, the important thing is to make the most of your days by doing what makes you happy.
